GARDEN CALENDER
OUTLAY:
Printing/binding/guillotining costs
Options:
Through our website via Red Bubble, BUT minimum production cost is $20, and we put the price on top of that. This is good as a no-risk option.
OR
Mik can do the design and we send to a printer for printing.
Local printer who may give us a discount is Ivy Printing – or be interested in a partnership.
OR
Gavin can ask at his work if they would do the printing cheaply.
Subject matter:
Local people in their gardens?
Culinary – the vegetables we could be growing for each season and a recipe – Mik and Liz would be happy t have a crack at this?
ACTIONS:
Investigate printing costs and minimum print runs
Gavin to approach work to ask for cost for colour printing.
Investigate cost of binding and guillotining.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE
OUTLAY: Cost of food/napkins etc
Book in a Bunnings option – general return is around $1200-$1300 bucks.
ACTION: Investigate Bunnings Coburg and Preston and find out how it done.

MOVIE NIGHT
OPTIONS:
Nova/Palace Westgarth – the cinemas give you a discount rate for group bookings (with a minimum of say $500 ticket sales).
OUTLAY: minimum cost of tickets

GLITCH BAR:
Hold a fundraiser film screening in the cinema out the back
ACTION: investigate options

ONSITE:
Screen the film outdoors on the garden site.
We would need to investigate regulations.
House next door is 2 storeys
ACTION: Investigate regulations – question for Toby Archer. – Would they support it and allow it in a public space i.e. the natural amphitheatre?
OUTLAY:
Hire of equipment – chairs, screens etc. Cost of permits.

This is a long-term option as it involves lng-term selling

CHOCOLATES:
As per Cadbury website. We pay for the boxes, they invoice in 28 days.
This could be pretty easy if there are enough people to sell them at their workplace.

WINE:
OPTIONS:
Buy from Get Wines direct and they will re-label the wine for us, then re-sell it at a higher cost.
OUTLAY: the cost of the wine – but we could try to get pre-orders to cover this before we order.

EVENT SPONSORSHIP:
OPTIONS
Mik rides 24 hours in a team endurance event and gets people to sponsor him. He does this anyway for fun so making money from him would just be a nice bonus.

We organise a ride – ie Dights falls to Coburg Dam and back, 15km - with a picnic at the end – and people pay a small fee to enter.
ACTION – would we need pubic liability insurance – ask Bicycle Victoria.

NB: Melbourne Roubaix is in April see if we can have a sausage sizzle set up at finish line

LEMONADE STAND:
Once we start busy bee days, when people are working on site, we have a lemonade stand – eskys and ice, home-made lemonade and/or canned drinks.
OUTLAY: canned drinks, lemons, sugar etc We would also need to build a stand and recruit cute kids to man the stall.
ACTION: TBC depending on when we start working on site!

FESTIVAL:

Everyone donates their own stuff, we hold it on site.
ACTION: Put it to the group for a date – say Oct 14?


QUIZ NIGHT:
We organise a venue, write questions, sort a deal for food and drinks etc
ACTION: put this to the group and see what date suits.


ADVERTISING THROUGH WEBSITE:
ACTION: Have a group discussion about advertising on the website – ie setting up a sponsorship pack with different levels etc of sponsorship

LOCAL BUSINESS DIRECTORY:
Local businesses donating a percentage of their profits on a certain day ie cafes, hardware shops etc.

CHRISTMAS CARDS
Design Christmas Cards and sell them!
