A community garden needs one special ingredient to make it great – community!  Everybody in the neighbourhood has something valuable to contribute to this garden and the MCCG is encouraging all community members to be a part of it.  Come to a meeting (held monthyl, on the first Monday of every month) and help plan the vision of the garden – help to make it a special place for you.

For a $20 yearly fee ($10 concession), come and get your hands dirty; attend meetings, put your name on the list to be a plot holder, share your ideas or skills, nominate yourself for the committee – there are lots of ways you can get involved:

Attend regular meetings

MCCG meetings generally happen on Mondays @ 7pm and are generally held at either the Edinburgh Castle (cnr Albion and Sydney Rd) or at someones house. All members are welcome to attend! We will post up the Committee meetings for 2012 on the fence and on the website.

If you’d like to come to the next meeting and don’t know when it is contact us and we’ll keep you in the loop.

Sponsor or donate to the MCCG!

The garden operates as a cooperative. Are there any other specialty skills or experience that you can offer to the group? i.e. gardening, legal, grants writing, fundraising, public relations, facilitation, trades skills.

Are you able to sponsor, donate money or tools, or provide a service/product to the growth of the garden?

If you’re a local business or tradesperson who wants to support the MCCG, sponsoring the garden is a great way to get behind a great long-term community project that will thrive for many years to come.

And of course, we welcome donations of gardening tools, seedlings, soil, and any ­other useful bits and pieces that gardeners could use to plant, dig, store, and grow!
